Every year, 300 million tons of plastic waste are generated globally. In Nigeria, over 88% of the 2.5 million tons of plastic waste go unrecycled, polluting our water and communities. At the same time, over 10 million Nigerian children are out of school. Niger State in Nigeria produces approximately 300 tons of waste each month, yet only 40% is properly collected. The uncollected waste is left scattered across the environment, affecting the health and well-being of local communities

Every bottle, can, or plastic bag thrown away contributes to a larger crisis not just environmental, but educational. Nigeria has over 10.5 million children out of school, and at the same time, plastic waste continues to block drainages, flood communities, and pollute our environment.

We turn plastic waste into access to education. Through this initiative, families in low-income communities can exchange plastic bottles and recyclables for essential school items like notebooks, uniforms, or PTA levy support. It’s a simple trade trash for tools that help children stay in school and succeed.This project not only reduces environmental waste but also empowers communities to invest in their children’s future, one bottle at a time.
